Salvador Barraza-Lopez Salvador Barraza-Lopez

Dr. Salvador Barraza-Lopez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas since July of 2011. His interests lie in the intersection between carbon-based materials, electronic materials, and electronic transport at the quantum level. The toolbox available to his group includes classical molecular dynamics, density-functional theory, and non-equilibrium Green’s functions for electronic transport. The group seeks to understand material-specific properties that arise at interfaces between bulk contacts and nanoscale devices.

Salvador received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with Karl Hess. He then was a postdoctoral associate, first with Kyungwha Park at Virginia Polytechnic and State University, and with Mei-Yin Chou at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Salvador has twenty publications and more than twenty invited talks. He is a member of the American Physical Society.
